People celebrate the Tamil New Year on early morning by wearing new clothes, Traditional jewells and poojas.Houses can decorate with fresh mango leaves and Kolam, kuthuvillakku placed the center of the kolam, in this day most people read the Panchangam. Tamil New Year festival highlights is preparation of Maanga Pachadi. Ingredients of maanga pachadi are raw mangoes, neem flowers, jaggery which tastes sweet, salt and bitter. This Festival is held grandly at Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple to Lord Sundareswarar, Tiruvadamarudur near Kumbakonam, Tiruchirapalli, Kanchipuram and more places.
